Carrie Clark w/ opener Camille Bloom

Sunday, October 11th
8pm No Cover
Fort George Brewery
1483 Duane St. -Astoria

Two female solo singer/songwriters will perform at the Fort George Brewery and Public House on Sunday, October 11th. Carrie Clark is an Oregon native brought up on Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle, and Johnny Cash, Carrie immersed herself in music at an early age, teaching herself piano and guitar. Describing her song writing tendencies, Carrie says "I'm a generally happy person, but song writing seems to bring out the dark side of my emotions. You have to have both, so in order to stay happy, the darker side of me is given to the songs I write." Carrie's liberal use of diverse musical sounds from country twang to vaudeville swing is unsurprising coming from a singer whose wide-ranging background includes membership in a Belle-and-Sebastian-esque pop duo, a reggae band, and a big-band jazz ensemble.

Opening the evening will be Camille Bloom. Known for her incredibly dynamic voice and edgy acoustic rock, Camille has played the most premiere venues on the East and West Coasts - ranging from New York City's Bitter End, Boston's Club Passim, Seattle's Triple Door, Tractor, and Crocodile, Los Angeles' The Mint and over 150 other rooms spanning the nation. She has had the chance to share the stage with such acts as Smashmouth, SUGARCULT, Brandi Carlile, Sarah Bettens, and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) and many more. Though modest about her achievements, in the last five years, she has been featured in Performing Songwriter Magazine, created the soundtrack for an HBO sponsored documentary "Not Straight Forward", was picked to be on a compilation CD with Michelle Malone and Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), completed over 25 national / international tours and has been added to several major and college radio stations throughout the nation: including Seattle's 103.7 The Mountain and KEXP. The show starts at 8pm and there is no cover.
